As Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic Bank, Meezan Bank aims to provide a multitude of learning opportunities to the masses including the business community. Through these meticulously planned learning and awareness seminars, the Bank aims to increase the understanding and implementation of Islamic banking knowledge in true letter and spirit. Keeping up with this culture of learning, Meezan Bank’s Canal Area of Lahore East Region recently conducted a seminar on Islamic banking awareness in collaboration with State Bank of Pakistan’s Banking Service Corporation Lahore at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology.
Mufti Muaz Ashraf Usmani, Shariah Scholar at Meezan Bank graced the occasion as the Guest Speaker in order to educate the participants regarding the key concepts of Islamic banking, the importance of a Shariah-compliant banking system and the differences between conventional banking and Islamic banking. The seminar was attended by more than 70 participants comprising of students and faculty members of the Institute.
The seminar served as an informative and interactive platform for the young learners who showed keen interest in this growing industry. A detailed discussion followed by a Q&A session further helped to improve the knowledge of the participants regarding Islamic banking products and procedures.
