Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank has been awarded the ‘Certificate of Merit’ by SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants) Best Presented Annual Report Awards and SAARC Anniversary Awards for Corporate Governance Disclosures for the year 2015 at the SAFA Conference 2017 held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Meezan Bank has been recognized for its excellent financial reporting and transparency of disclosures. The Bank has been conferred with this prestigious award under the category ‘Private Sector Banks (Including Co-operative Banks).’ This is the third consecutive year that the Bank has been recognized for its consistent delivery of best practice reporting.
SAFA, an Apex Body of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) represents more than 300,000 accountants having membership of the national chartered accountancy and cost and management accountancy institutions in the South Asian countries. The organization has played a pivotal role in recognizing the accounting profession in the SAARC region, encouraging sustainable development and continued improvement in the region.
Meezan Bank’s Annual Report 2015 has been recognized for its compliance with ICAP (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan) regulations, clarity of disclosures while reporting financial and non-financial key performance indicators and presentation of business model and strategy throughout the report.
