Karachi: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank has been conferred with ‘Certificate of Merit’ by SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants) Best Presented Annual Report Awards for the year 2014 at the SAFA Conference 2016 held in Lahore, Pakistan. Meezan Bank has won this prestigious award under the category ‘Private Sector Banks (Including Co-operative Banks).’ Mr. Aasim Salim, General Manager (Lahore- East), Meezan Bank, collected the award on behalf of the Bank.
SAFA, an Apex Body of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) represents more than 300,000 accountants having membership of the national chartered accountancy and cost and management accountancy institutions in the South Asian countries. The organization has played a pivotal role in recognizing the accounting profession in the SAARC region, encouraging sustainable development and continued improvement in the region. Meezan Bank’s Annual Report 2014 has been recognized for its compliance with ICAP (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan) regulations, clarity of disclosures while reporting financial and non-financial key performance indicators and presentation of business model and strategy throughout the report.
