Mufti Muhammad Naveed Alam holds a Masters in Islamic Banking and Finance from University of Karachi and Shahadat ul Alamiyah and Takhassus (specialization in Islamic Jurisprudence and Fatwa) from Jamia Darul Uloom, Karachi. He is also a qualified Certified Shariah Advisor & Auditor CSAA from Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institution (AAOIFI).
Mufti Naveed Alam joined Meezan Bank in 2013 as a member of the Shariah Compliance Unit of Shariah Compliance Department. His main responsibilities include Islamic Banking training, Shariah Compliance Review and Shariah Audit of different Departments and Branches.
He is an active Teacher/Trainer at Center for Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF) of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, Center of Islamic Economics (CIE) of Jamia Darul-Uloom Karachi as well as several other renowned universities.
Previously, Mufti Naveed Alam has served as Shariah Advisor of Premier Window Takaful Operations and also as Shariah Coordinator at Indus Hospital. He is also a member of the Shariah Board of NBP Funds.
Dr. Muhammad Imran Usmani, son of Justice (Retd.) Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, holds an LLB, M. Phil, and Ph. D. in Islamic Finance and graduated as a scholar with specialization (Takhassus) in Islamic Fiqh and fatwa from Jamia Darul-Uloom, Karachi.
Dr. Muhammad Imran Usmani, Shariah Advisor and Group Head of the Product Development & Shariah Compliance Department (PDSC) at Meezan Bank, is responsible for R&D of Islamic banking products, advisory for Shariah-compliant banking and supervision of Shariah Audit & Compliance.
Dr. Imran Usmani has served as an advisor / member of Shariah Boards of several renowned institutions since 1997 which includes the State Bank of Pakistan, HSBC - Amanah Finance, UBS - Switzerland, Guidance Financial Group USA, Lloyds TSB Bank - UK, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JABIC), Credit Suisse Switzerland, RBS Global, Future Growth Albarakah Equity Fund South Africa, AIG Takaful, ACR Retakaful Malaysia, Capitas Group USA, Bank of London And Middle East Kuwait, BMI Bank Bahrain, Al Khaliji Bank Qatar, Sarasin Bank Switzerland, DCD group Dubai and other Mutual and Property funds and international Sukuk etc. He is also an Executive Committee Member of AAOIFI (Dubai) and Shariah Supervisory Board of International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM) Bahrain and International Center for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) Malaysia, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and Center for Islamic Economics (CIE), Karachi.
Dr. Imran Usmani is the author of numerous publications related to Islamic finance and other Shariah-related subjects. He has presented papers in numerous national and international seminars and has delivered lectures at academic institutions including Harvard, LSE, LUMS and IBA. Dr. Usmani is also the head of Hira Foundation School, a project of Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi to provide a high standard education from Montessori level to University levels combining conventional modern academics with Islamic teachings. He also serves as a lecturer of different subjects of Shariah and is amongst the administration board of the Jamia Darul-Uloom, Karachi. He is a visiting faculty member at Karachi University and IBA. He has also been leading Friday khuthbah and prayer at a Jamia Mosque for 20 years.
Mr. Siddiqui holds a Bachelors & Masters degree in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi with six gold medals. He has over 21 years of Islamic banking experience and is currently working as Group Head of Shariah Compliance and leading one of the largest research departments in the Islamic banking world with over 40 dedicated team members. He is also the Secretary for Shariah Supervisory Board at Meezan Bank Limited and is part of the team to advice the Government of Pakistan on structuring and issuance of local currency Sovereign Sukuk of around US $5 billion dollars.
Currently Mr. Siddiqui is also a member of advisory team for Center of Islamic Economics (CIE), Jamia Darul uloom Karachi, Senior Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee on Islamic Finance of Federation of Chamber of Commerce & Industries Pakistan, member of Islamic banking sub-committee of Pakistan Banking Association, Member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan Committee for Islamic Accounting Standards and a visiting faculty member of Islamic Finance at IBA Karachi.
He has served and is also a member of several task forces at the Central Bank level related to Islamic banking products, Islamic banking regulations, governance framework, Accounting disclosures and Adoption of AAOIFI Shariah Standards.
His job responsibilities include managing product development initiatives, formulation of policy guidelines, Islamic banking training, Shariah audit & review of bank activities along with the Shariah Advisor and managing external product development & Islamic financial advisory services. His previous assignment includes launching of Car Ijarah –Pakistan’s first Islamic car financing scheme & Easy Home – Pakistan first Islamic Housing Finance as Product Manager in Pakistan.
He is also a frequent speaker on Islamic banking at National Institute of Banking & Finance (State Bank of Pakistan), Export Promotion Bureau, LUMS & Center of Islamic Economics (CIE), Karachi and has conducted several specialized training sessions & workshops in UAE, Bahrain, Malaysia, Australia & UK
Mr. Siddiqui has also been given the additional role to lead the IBA Center for Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF) as its founding Director.
Mr. Irfan Siddiqui is the founding President and CEO of Meezan Bank since 1997 to date. Having articled with Coopers & Lybrand, London from 1975 - 1979, Mr. Siddiqui qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
His distinguished career includes several senior management roles, such as Chief Executive Officer at Al Meezan Investment Bank Limited, General Manager at Pakistan Kuwait Investment Company, Chairman of Al Meezan Investment Management, Advisor to the Managing Director at Kuwait Investment Authority, Manager of Finance and Operations at Abu Dhabi Investment Company, and Senior Business Analyst at Exxon Chemical (Pakistan) Ltd.
Current Positions:Mr. Muhammad Farhan Ul Haq Usmani holds Baccalaureate in Business Administration and Commerce, Masters and M. Phil. in Economics from University of Karachi, Pakistan. He is also a Certified Islamic Banker from Center for Islamic Economics (CIE) - A division of Jamia Dar ul Uloom Karachi, Chaired by Justice (Retd.) Muhammad Taqi Usmani.
Mr. Usmani joined Meezan Bank Limited in the year 2005 where his main areas of responsibility include Product Development & Implementation, Islamic Banking Policy making & Implementation, Islamic Finance trainings, Shariah Controls, Shariah Compliance & Audit and Islamic Financial & Shariah Advisory.
Prior to joining Meezan Bank he has worked with various Professional Advisory & Consulting Firms where he was involved in providing consultancy services related to Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and ERP Systems development and implementation.
Mr. Usmani is a frequent national & international speaker and visiting faculty member at various leading institutions. He is also a senior member of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s (FPCCI) committee on Islamic Banking & Takaful and NBFI & Mudarabah. Mr. Usmani is also a member of academic committee of Centre for Islamic Economics (CIE) and Member, Consultative Board – LUMS (CEIF).
Mr. Ebrahim Yakoob joined Meezan Bank in 2014 and in his current role is heading the Internal Audit and Business Risk Review department. His primary responsibility in this role is to develop and implement an independent audit function designed to add value and improve the Bank’s operations, by the identification of control weaknesses in the policies/procedures of various functional areas. He is also responsible to safeguard the Bank’s assets by performing tests / procedures, establishing the validity and reliability of operating systems, procedural controls and resulting records.
Prior to joining Meezan Bank, Mr. Yakoob had worked with HBL, UBL and M/s A.F Ferguson & Co. (PriceWaterHouseCoopers). He is a Chartered Accountant by profession both from England & Wales and Pakistan with a very strong academic background. He is also qualified as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA).
Shabbir Hamza Khandwala is a Chartered Accountant and carries with him a diversified experience of 27 years. He has worked with the leading Chartered Accountant firm, A.F. Ferguson & Co. for 9 years. His last affiliation was with KASB Group for last 10 years and he has worked there in different capacities namely; CEO at KASB Securities, CFO & Company Secretary at KASB Bank, CEO at KASB Premier Fund, and Director Finance at Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari & Co. Ltd.
Mr. Shabbir Hamza Khandwala is the Chief Financial Officer of Meezan Bank. He is responsible for all accounting & financial matter of the Bank.
Syed Imran Ali Shah is serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Meezan Bank since September, 2022. He joined the Bank in March, 2021 as a Financial Controller for Retail, Commercial / SME & Agricultural Banking and was subsequently also given the financial oversight of the Consumer Finance department. In his previous role at Meezan Bank, Mr. Shah was pivotal in spearheading Roshan Apna Ghar (housing finance / real estate investment product for Non-Resident Pakistanis) under the Roshan Digital Accounts initiative, where he led the industry efforts in designing, marketing and launching the product in close coordination with the State Bank of Pakistan.
Mr. Shah holds an Executive MBA with distinction from London Business School, UK, and has a BSc (Hons) degree from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.
Mr. Shah started his career with KPMG in the United Kingdom, where he trained as a Chartered Accountant. He has had a distinguished career working with some of the most prestigious global financial institutions in the world including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank in progressively senior roles in the areas of Finance, Treasury, Advisory and Risk Management. His last assignment was with Deutsche Bank in London where he was working within Group Treasury.
Mr. Khalid Zaman Khan holds a Masters in Human Resources Management and has also attended a number of leadership and strategy programs in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, U.A.E, and Pakistan. With over 25 years of experience in the field of Human Resources Management, he has held several key positions including serving with HSBC Bank Pakistan and Abu Dhabi as Country Head of Human Resources & Learning. He implemented Broad Banding in Pakistan and his forte includes Talent and Performance Management. He has also worked as Head of Human Resources at Karachi Stock Exchange dully supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has been a part of the core team who implemented capital market reforms in the Karachi Stock Exchange. He has also worked at Commercial Union Life Assurance Company (Pakistan) Limited, and New Zealand Immigration Services, Government of New Zealand.
Mr. Khalid Zaman Khan is currently serving as Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head Human Resources, Learning & Development at Meezan Bank Limited. He is a member of the Senior Management team as well as the Secretary to the Board’s Human Resources & Remuneration Committee.
Mr. Khalid Zaman Khan was also elected as the Vice President of Pakistan Society of Human Resources Management (PSHRM) for two terms. He is also a member of the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) and is a regular speaker/panelist at seminars, conferences, and business schools. He has been appointed as an Independent Director (2017-2020) on the Board of National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) where he also serves as a member of the Human Resources and Nomination Committee. Besides, he also chaired the Audit Committee of the NCCPL. Currently, he is also serving on the Academic Board of Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP)
Mr. Javed Ahmed holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electronics) from NED University and an MBA from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Mr. Javed is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS). He has over twenty-four years of experience in central and commercial banks. Before joining Meezan Bank in 2006, he had been associated with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in its Banking Inspection and Banking Supervision Departments.
In his current role as the Head of Compliance department, his primary responsibility is to manage Meezan Bank’s reputational risk and to ensure that the Bank is in compliance with all the regulatory authorities including applicable laws, rules, regulations, instructions and the Bank’s policies and procedures. Fraud Risk Management also comes under his domain.
Before this assignment, Mr. Javed was associated with the Risk department of the Bank as the Head - Enterprise Risk Management, and his responsibilities included management of liquidity, market, financial institutions and operational risk, IFRS-9 and Basel Implementation. He laid the foundation of risk management policy framework and developed wide range of policies and procedures. He has been actively involved in the formulation of capital strategy of the Bank. During this previous assignment, he was also heading the Business Continuity Management function, where Mr. Javed was responsible to ensure continuity of critical operations of the Bank from alternate processing sites during crisis. Mr. Javed is also qualified as Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) and Certified Forensic & Audit Analyst and an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute.
Mr. Sohail Khan is the Company Secretary of Meezan Bank since February 2017.
He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi and a Bachelors degree in Engineering from NED University. He has over thirty years of experience in the financial sector and has held senior positions in both business and support functions in large financial institutions.
Mr. Sohail Khan has been associated with Meezan Bank since 2000 from the days of Al Meezan Investment Bank. During his association with Meezan Bank, he has handled several key positions including Head of Car Ijarah, Head of Human Resources & Administration and Head of Marketing. His last assignment was as Head of Learning and Development, Corporate Communication and Innovation. He has also been actively involved in imparting Islamic Finance training, both in-house and on various external forums.
Mr. Umar Khan completed his Bachelors in Law (LL.B.) from University of Punjab in 2004 and received Gold Medal on securing overall first position. Later, he went to University of Karachi for his Masters in Law (LL.M.) where he also secured distinctions. In addition to his professional qualifications, Mr. Fareedy is also a Masters in English Literature from Baha-ud-Din Zakariya University, Multan.
Mr. Fareedy started his career with Cornelius, Lane & Mufti in June, 2004 where he was involved in the legal audit of Saudi Pak Commercial Bank, Bank Alfalah and Habib Bank Limited. He joined Warid Telecom Pakistan as Assistant Manager - Legal Affairs in July 2006 and served there till 2010. Later, he served as Civil Judge in Districts of Depalpur and Sheikhupura from 2010 till 2014. His last assignment was Manager Legal Affairs/Head of Litigation for Beaconhouse Group.
Mr. Munawar Rizvi has graduated from the University of Karachi. As a senior banker he has worked with Emirates International Bank, Faysal Bank and MCB in key positions in Human Resources, Administration and Establishment. He has an overall banking experience of 45 years.
In addition to that he focuses on the acquisition of various cross-industry small and medium commercial businesses for the Bank.
Syed Amir Ali is an experienced Islamic banking professional holding qualifications in finance, accounting, business, and law. With over 20 years of experience in Finance, Treasury, Investment, and Corporate Banking, he has worked with domestic and international organizations including A.F Ferguson & Co, Shell, BankIslami Pakistan Limited, and Meezan Bank.
He is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst from The CFA Institute, USA, a Chartered Certified Accountant from The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK, and a Chartered Accountant (Gold Medallist) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and in England & Wales. He is also an MBA (Gold Medallist) from Hamdard University, Karachi and LL.B. from University of Karachi.
Mr. Ali first joined Meezan Bank in 2006, spearheading the corporate and investment group, before transitioning to BankIslami in 2018 as President & CEO. He currently serves as the Deputy CEO of Meezan Bank.
Mr. Ijaz Farooq is an MBA (Marketing) from University of Punjab. He has an extensive experience of over 37 years in Pakistan's banking industry.
He has served at renowned entities such as Allied Bank Limited from where he started his career as Officer. As the Chief Manager for Emirates Bank International, Mr. Ijaz played a pivotal role for increasing profitability and overall result of the bank. This contribution was recognized by virtue of his nomination for Advanced Management Program (AMP) at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Prior to joining Meezan Bank, Mr. Farooq spent 15 years with Bank Alfalah Limited, where he joined as Area Manager in 1998, and progressed to the position of Group Head-Islamic Banking. The overall planning, establishment and smooth functioning of Islamic Banking Division is to Mr. Farooq's credit. His strategic objective setting and business planning has substantial contribution towards the success of Islamic Banking. As Group Head, he served on several committees including Central Management Committee, Central Credit Committee, Asset & Liability Committee and Human Resource Committee.
Mr. Khalid Masood has a Bachelor of Arts from Islamia University, Bahawalpur and DAIBP - I from Institute of Bankers Pakistan. With a diversified experience of over 37 years, Mr. Khalid possesses the exposure of almost all areas of banking including Retail Banking, Credit and Foreign Trade.
Before joining Meezan Bank, he was associated with Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) since 1976 where he held several different positions through the course of his career, and was assigned responsibilities of multi-dimensional nature. During his 8 years at MCB Bank, he ascended the ladder of success and proved his skills and competencies through the ranks of Chief Manager, Auditor, Area Manager and Regional Manager. Mr. Khalid remained posted in all regions of Southern Punjab at different times as Regional Manager. His last assignment before joining Meezan Bank was General Manager - Sukkur Circle, MCB.

Mr. Zia ul Hasan has been a part of Meezan Bank since 2006, when he had joined as the Head of Internal Audit and Business Risk Review, whereby he grew the Internal Audit function for stronger and better risk management. In his current role as the Group Head of Operations, he is responsible for the entire Operations backbone and thus all back office operations including General Banking, Trade Finance, Credit Administration, Treasury Back Office, Equity Market and Open/Closed Ended Mutual Funds operations fall under his area.
Mr. Zia is Certified Internal Auditor(CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) ,Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)and Certified Financial Services Auditor(CFSA).He has done his MBA from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and also holds a gold medal in the DAIBP examination. After completing his MSc in Economics from Quaid-e-Azam University he joined the State Bank of Pakistan in 1994. He served there for 11 years in Banking Policy and Inspection, where his last assignment was at the Banking Policy Department as Joint Director.
Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Ahmed has over 25 years of diversified banking experience covering Corporate Banking, treasury, Financial Institutions, Correspondent Banking, Home Remittances, Transaction Banking, and Supply Chain Financing. He has worked at Bank of America NA, National Bank of Pakistan, and Khalid Ali Shah Bukhari (KASB) Bank before joining Meezan Bank in 2005.
Mr. Abdullah has Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi. He is a fellow of the Association Cambiste Internationale (ACI) - The Financial Markets Association, Paris in financial markets trading and a fellow of the Institute of Bankers Pakistan. He is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), USA as well as a certified Omega Credit Skills Assessment (CSA) professional.
Mr. Abdullah has been an active member of the local Financial Markets Association of Pakistan (FMAP) from 2000-2012. He was a member of the Pakistan Banks Association (PBA) sub-committee on Treasury and Capital Markets from 2010-2018 and the Technical Committee of the Financial Markets Association of Pakistan from 2012-2018. He is currently a member of The Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) sub-committee on Trade & Industry since 2019.
Mr. Shahzad Abdullah is currently heading both Treasury and Home Remittance functions of the Bank. He carries with him over 21 years of experience in Treasury, having managed both Islamic and Conventional portfolios in his respective organizations. Before joining Meezan Bank in 2013, he has worked with Emirates Bank International PJSC and Bank Alfalah Limited in senior positions in Treasury.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
Mr. Abdullah has extensive understanding of Shariah Compliant Treasury Products as well as analytical thinking and decision-making expertise of portfolio construction, trading and funding strategies given the investment avenues available. He is also an active member of the Financial Market Association of Pakistan and also represents Meezan Bank in the Technical Committee of FMAP.
Mr. Shariq Mubeen joined Meezan Bank in December, 2016 where he served as Head of Alternate Distribution Channels (ADC) business for six years prior to taking charge as Chief Digital Officer in 2023. As Head of ADC, Mr. Mubeen led the ADC channels and products including cards, e-commerce, mobile app, internet banking, digital payments, ATM network, fintech program, POS acquiring, payment gateway and call center. Under his supervision, Meezan Bank set new benchmarks and achieved market leadership in many of its ADC products and services.
Mr. Mubeen holds 22 years of diversified banking and consulting experience in leading roles. Prior to joining Meezan Bank, he has worked with JS Bank as Head of ADC and Cash Management, Teradata Corporation as Banking Industry Consultant, FIS Global as Project Manager, Atlas Bank as Liability Products Head, NCR Corporation as Banking Industry Consultant, KASB Bank as Product Development Manager and Union Bank as Brand Manager where he started his professional career as Management Trainee in 2001.
Mr. Mubeen completed his BBA (Hons) and MBA From IBA Karachi in year 2000.
Mr. Muhammad Raza holds a B.E. degree from the NED University of Engineering & Technology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Institute of Business Management (IoBM). He also has a DAIBP (Diploma Associate Institute of Bankers Pakistan) from Institute of Bankers Pakistan, a Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from the Centre of Islamic Economics and an Islamic Scholar Course (Dars e Nizami) from Al-Furqan Scholars Academy.
Mr. Raza has 32 years of diversified banking experience in the areas of Retail and Consumer Banking including over 20 years of experience as an Islamic banker in the areas of Branch Banking, Liability Sales, Product Development, Service Quality, Consumer Finance, Wealth Management, Training, Marketing and Strategy.
He started his banking career with MCB as a Branch Manager and a Chief Manager and joined Meezan Bank in February, 2003 as a Branch Manager of their flagship branch at Gulshan-e-Iqbal and was later given the task of opening another flagship branch in the F. B. Area.
Mr. Raza currently serves as the Group Head, General Services and Customer Support, looking after multiple functions including Administration, Security, Product Development, Service Quality and Strategy Support.
Joined Meezan Bank in 2002 on the official inauguration day of the bank. He possesses over 16 years of rich and diversified commercial banking experience in different positions as Manager, Area Manager, Regional Corporate Head-Central and Regional Manager. Before joining Meezan Bank he was associated with Emirates Bank International for 08 years mainly in the field of Corporate Banking.
He has done MBA-Finance with distinction (Gold Medallist) from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He is also partly qualified in the field of Chartered Accountancy (CA-Inter) from The Institute of Chartered Accountant in Pakistan. He attended various advance business courses on Leadership, Corporate Financial Management, Strategic Management and Islamic Banking & Finance.
His primary responsibilities include marketing & management of the Bank’s various Corporate, SME/Commercial portfolios and retail branch functions in the Faisalabad Region widely spread over 12 cities of Punjab. He is also involved in internal-training.
Mr. Amir Ali is a Chartered Accountant holding three gold medals from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He also holds charter from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (UK), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), the CFA Institute (USA) along with holding a Masters degree with a gold medal in Business Administration.
Mr. Amir joined Meezan Bank in late 2006 and it was under his leadership that the Management decided to set up a dedicated Investment Banking department at Meezan Bank. As Head of Investment Banking, he has been the driving force in devising complex structures for Investment Banking transactions. His remarkable knowledge of finance & accounting, corporate & tax laws and Shariah principles are the core elements behind the Investment Banking department’s landmark performance. Mr. Amir has assumed the office of Head of Corporate & Investment Banking Group in March 2013.
Prior to joining Meezan Bank, he was serving as the Head of Treasury and then as Financial Controller at Pakistan Refinery Limited. He has also had the opportunity to work as a Business Control Analyst for Shell Companies Pacific Islands Limited.
Mr. Faizur Rehman is an MBA with bi-majors in Operations Management and Finance. He is also amongst the very few Certified Software Quality Professionals in Pakistan. He has over 16 years of experience in the field of Information Technology bringing with him the versatile experience of manufacturing sector, management companies, traders, distribution companies and especially financial sector (DFIs, Modarabas, Leasing, Housing Finance and Commercial & Investment Banks).
His last assignment was at Zensoft Private Limited, an information technology solution provider company part of the renowned Ghulam Faruque Group of companies where he was the General Manager. Prior to that he was the Senior Vice President and Head of MISD in Bankers Equity Limited. He also worked for Systems Research (Private) Ltd. as Project Manager, whereas he started his career from Jaffer Brothers (Pvt.) Ltd.
At Meezan Bank he is responsible for planning the current and future strategies of the Information Technology division in line with the Bank's strategic plans, also responsible for managing implementation, customization and 24x7 support of the integrated banking and remote banking solutions. Coordination with the software vendor and development of ancillary modules is also part of his responsibilities.
Mr. Saeed started his banking career in 1995 from Emirates Bank International; whereby in these 8 years, he served in various capacities within areas of Operations & Commercial Banking.
He joined Meezan Bank in October 2002 as Operations Manager in Serena Hotel Branch, Faisalabad and his high performance led him on a fast track career trajectory. Within a very short span of time, he rose to the position of Area Manager for Faisalabad in 2008. Throughout his career at Meezan Bank, he has been an active participant in expanding the business and branch network in Faisalabad and Gujranwala regions, and thus as a result of his exceptional performance, he became the Regional Manager – Gujranwala in 2014. He was given the charge of managing the Bank's SME/Commercial portfolio and Retail banking function in this region.
Mr. Saeed holds an MBA degree in Finance from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad
Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Qureshi joined Meezan Bank in September 2005, after serving the Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) for over 38 years. His present responsibilities include developing strategy for consumer book, capacity building of consumer team and building up healthy consumer financing portfolio in line with strategic objectives of the Bank. He is also responsible to lead special projects as and when assigned. He is also the Chairman of Disciplinary Action Committee and member to the various management Committees.
His previous assignment in Meezan Bank, upto 2015, was as Chief Risk Officer. His assignments included strengthening risk management framework by establishing policies, strategies, procedures, limit structures and techniques. He was also involved in providing support to business in the formulation of credit strategy through development of a niche target market and identification of industries strategically important to the economy and to the Bank. He has also served as the Group Head Branch Network, SME & Commercial at Meezan Bank, focusing on branch expansion, deposit growth and booking SME & Commercial assets portfolio.
His last assignment at MCB was as SEVP & Group Head Islamic Banking & Bank Operations. Prior to that he has a diversified experience of working in different positions as Manager, Regional Manager, Circle Executive, Country Head of Commercial, Corporate Banking & Islamic Banking. He had established Cash Management, Corporate Banking & Islamic Banking for the first time in MCB.
Mr. Memon has a Masters degree from University of Jamshoro, Sindh.
Mr. Memon brings with him vast experience in all the areas of branch banking while working with renowned entities of Banking industry such as United Bank Limited & Bank Alfalah Limited. He spent almost 30 years of his career with United Bank Limited where he attained the position of Area Operation Manager. His last assignment with Bank Alfalah was as Zonal Manager for Hyderabad Zone.
Mr. Majeed has been part of Meezan Bank before its inception (when Meezan Bank was Al Meezan Investment Bank) and has played an instrumental role in growing Meezan Bank by developing the Operations function. In his current role he serves as Group Head of Consumer Finance.
Mr. Majeed’s banking career stretches over 26 years during which he has held various senior positions in local as well as foreign banks such as Deutsche Bank AG, The Chase Manhattan Bank Ltd, Muslim Commercial Bank and Mashreq Bank, in both Pakistan and abroad. His last assignment before joining Meezan bank was with Mashreq Bank Head Office, Dubai as Senior Methods Analyst for Operating Policies and Procedures for Local and Overseas Branch Operations & Internal Quality Audit for Head Office Operations-Dubai.
Mr. Majeed has a Masters degree in Business Administration and Graduate Degrees in Advanced Mathematics and Law from Karachi University. He is also a certified Internal Quality Auditor from Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI), London. Mr. Majeed is a member of various senior-level internal committees of Meezan Bank and as an internal trainer has also conducted numerous country-wide training courses.
Joined Meezan bank in 2004 & opened its 14th branch as Branch Manager. Elevated in 2006 as Area Manager. In 2009 promoted as Regional Manager. He remained in this position for more than four years with two Area Managers reporting to him in Karachi and another two Area Mangers were reporting for all interior Sindh branches. He was having a diversified Region of 43 operating branches of entire DHA, Clifton Site & Korangi Karachi, along with entire branch network of interior Sindh. Having specialized knowledge of commercial banking (including Trade Finance) his services were transferred to Head Office effective from June 2012, for his contribution on a wider canvas as Head of Commercial, SME & Agriculture Finance. He has now been elevated as General Manager Karachi (Central), his last assignment before this position was GM Commercial SME & Agriculture Finance.
He brings with him enriched experience of 22 years by working in banks like Habib Bank A.G. Zurich and Bank A-Habib Limited. He has done his MBA and also acquired a law degree.
Mr. Khan has been part of the financial services industry since 1995, and has over 19 years of experience in areas of Credits, Trade and Commercial Banking. He started his career with M/s International Housing Finance Limited (IHFL), a joint venture of IFC, CDC & Crescent Investment Bank, as Assistant Manager – Credit and Marketing. In 1999, he worked in Habib Bank AG Zurich in various capacities, whereby his last assignment had been of Deputy Manager-Trade Finance in City Court Branch, Karachi.
Mr. Khan’s association with Meezan Bank started in 2003, where he was instrumental in launching the first Commercial Branch of MBL in Jodia Bazar-Karachi as Manager, Trade Finance. Over the years, he has grown the ranks to have become the Regional Manager – Defence, Karachi and in all his roles, he has contributed greatly towards the growth of Islamic Banking within Pakistan.
Mr. Khan has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston, Texas, U.S.A.
Joined Meezan Bank in 2006 to head one of its branch at Bahadurabad Branch, Karachi. His commercial banking career stretches over 25 years, which he had held various positions. Before joining Meezan Bank has has been associated with National Development Finance Corporation (NDFC) and Metropolitan Bank Limited for about 21years holding various positions in Credit Management and Branch Management as well.
He has bachelor degrees in commerece and Law (B. Com. and LLb) and a Master degree in Economic. He attended various advance courses on credit management, marketing and Islamic banking. His primary responsibility include management of the bank's SME/Commercial portfolio and retail banking function in the South Region-I.
Aasim Salim joined Meezan Bank in 2003. He is an M.B.A. (Gold Medalist) from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan. He also earned the S.B.P. Gold medal in D.A.I.B.P. with distinction in three subjects. He has over nineteen years of banking & F.I. experience at various Managerial position in Pakistan and abroad.
His current assignment is General Manager - Lahore East. Prior to this assignment he was looking after Meezan Bank Branch Network in Southern Punjab as Regional Manager, Multan.
Mr. Khan has been part of Meezan Bank since 2002 and brings with him 30 years of local and international Commercial Banking experience.
Mr. Khan started his career with BCCI and served for 10 years on various local & international assignments. He joined Bank of Khyber in 1993 as Director Credits at their Head Office, Peshawar. After serving BoK for 4 years, his next career move was to join Societe Generale (SG) in 1997 as Head of Corporate and Operations, Islamabad Branch. When Meezan Bank took over SG Operations in May 2002, he availed the opportunity to join Meezan Bank as Branch Manager, Islamabad.
Mr. Khan currently holds the role of the General Manager and Head Distribution - North Region and has been instrumental in increasing Meezan Bank’s branch network and developing strong relationships with major Corporate, Commercial/SME and Consumer businesses in that region.
He has a BS and an MBA degree from USA and a BBA degree from Peshawar University.
Mr. Kiani is an experienced banker, who has worked for over 36 years in different areas of Commercial Banking. He started his career in 1979 with American Express Bank as a Junior Officer and served for 16 years on various assignments. He made his next career move to Deutsche Bank as Manager Operations. In 2003, he took up an opportunity to join Meezan Bank as Deputy Manager. Over the years, Mr. Kiani grew professionally with Meezan Bank as the Regional Manager for the Potohar Region.
He is extremely instrumental in increasing Meezan Bank’s branch network in Potohar Region and is responsible in developing relationship with major Corporate, Commercial/SME, Consumer businesses and Depository customers.
Mr. Khan currently holds the role of the General Manager – North Region and has been instrumental in increasing Meezan Bank’s branch network and developing strong relationships with major Corporate, Commercial/SME and Consumer businesses in that region.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Executive) from a renowned university of Pakistan.
Mr. Asad Alvi joined Meezan Bank in July 2019 as Regional Manager, Karachi South.
Prior to joining Meezan Bank, Mr. Alvi served at the Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan where he led a portfolio of Islamic and Conventional branches and secured best Regional Head as well as Best Branch Manager accolades. He led the transformation of the oldest and largest branch in Pakistan resulting in it successfully achieving 1st rank within the Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan network and winning the Management Excellence Award.
Mr. Alvi has held a number of positions in diverse organizations handling portfolios of sales, service, audit, brand management and marketing. He also served at CitiFinancial Canada Inc where he gained exposure to the North American financial industry and was rated as Most Valuable Employee.
Mr. Alvi holds an MBA degree from Hamdard University with an equivalency from the University of Toronto. He has also completed multiple management courses from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
Syed Tariq Hassan is a CFA Charter Holder, an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, and a DAIBP from the Institute of Bankers Pakistan. He has over 25 years of diversified banking experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Risk Management. Before joining Meezan Bank in 2008, he had been associated with UBL as Senior Vice President/Unit Head, Corporate Banking Group and Askari Bank as Vice President/Unit Head, Corporate Banking Division. His last assignment before joining Risk Management Group at Meezan Bank was Head of Corporate Banking (South), Meezan Bank.
Being the Chief Risk Officer and Group Head Risk Management Meezan Bank, his responsibilities include management of risk exposures by development of risk policies, strategies, processes, limits structures, tools and techniques at entity level.
Syed Fahd Azam holds an MBA degree from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), Karachi and a BS in Computer Engineering degree from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Karachi. He has international certifications and qualifications including Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) and Lead Auditor (LA) 27001.
His career spans over a period of 13 years with working experience of esteem organizations like Habib Bank Limited (HBL), MNET (subsidiary of MCB) and Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited. His articles have been published on Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA) 2013 Journal and Pentest Online Magazine.
Mr. Aneeq Ejaz Qureshi has over 22 years of banking experience in diversified areas including Branch Banking, Compliance & Audit, Trade Finance, etc. Prior to joining Meezan Bank, he served at MCB Ltd. & Bank Alfalah Ltd. in various roles. He joined Meezan Bank as Regional Audit Manager and later moved to Regional Operations Manager position. Upon his outstanding performance he was elevated to the position of Area Manager – Rawalpindi II Area in 2017. Currently he is looking after the Bank’s Rawalpindi Cantt Area
Mr. Alam Zeb Khan has more than 30 years of diversified banking experience. Prior to joining Meezan Bank, he served at renowned banks including UBL, BOK & MCB. During his 14 years of extensive tenure at Meezan Bank he has served more than 13 years as an Area Manager. His contribution is not merely limited to Abbottabad Area as he has also served at other Areas of the Bank within Islamabad & Rawalpindi. Currently he is effectively managing the Abbottabad Area.
Mr. Kamran Mahmood Butt has a diversified banking experience of more than 25 years. He started his banking career in 1996 from MCB Ltd. as an Officer in Foreign Exchange & Trade department. He also served for Prime Commercial Bank Ltd. & Bank Alfalah Ltd. and has extensive exposure in various domains including Credit Marketing, Credit Administration, Consumer Finance & Operations, etc. Later he joined Meezan Bank in 2005 as Branch Manager - Gujranwala. His excellent performance resulted in his elevation as Area Manager – Business Area, Lahore in 2014. Moreover, he has also served as Officiating Regional Manager – Lahore West for almost 10 months. Currently, he is managing the largest Area Office of the Bank’s Lahore West Region i.e., Allama Iqbal Town Area, Lahore.
